The Opportunity:
The Plumber/Pipefitter/Steamfitter - Fire Sprinkler Fitter position combines advanced electronics expertise with journeyman-level plumbing and sprinkler skills to ensure the proper function and safety of building and facility systems. In this role, you maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of fire and life safety systems, such as fire alarms, suppression systems, and sprinkler systems. In addition, you diagnose electronic fire alarm issues, the role requires interpreting blueprints and schematics, and performing journeyman-level plumbing, pipefitting, welding, and pipe fitting tasks to maintain building infrastructure and equipment.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanentposition. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $5,398 to $6,259 | Range 51G (Steps G-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter OR full journey status as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter in a union OR four (4) years applicable work experience.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Ability to respond to the worksite on a 24-hour basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Journey-level plumbing or pipefitter certification preferred at time of hire.
Three (3) years of experience as a fire alarm technician or equivalent.
Welding experience. Welding certification obtained within six (6) months of hire.
NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Suppression Systems.
NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
NICET Certification in Special Hazard Suppression Systems.
