Description of Work:
The University of Nebraska College of Law, located in Lincoln, Nebraska, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director of the Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law Program.
Duties and responsibilities of this position include:
Represent the College of Law at local, regional, and national events
Manage day-to-day administrative operations of the department
Assist and support student recruitment (LLMs, JDs)
Provide student support services for SCNS program students
Provide conference planning and execution
Oversee external professional outreach
Manage Alumni Relations and engagement
Support full-time and adjunct faculty and leadership
Develop programming and participate in research initiatives
This position will require some evenings/weekends and overnight travel.
An ideal candidate will be interested in a combination of administrative work, strategic planning, and legal research, with some background in the substantive areas and interest in developing research relationships.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of relevant professional experience such as Higher Ed administration, law school operations, government/military affairs, or program management in a policy-focused environment.
Writing, editing, and marketing experience.
Event planning and execution experience.
Experience in social media and communications management.
Budget tracking and basic financial management experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Customer service orientated.
Independent judgment and problem-solving ability.
Basic computer proficiency.
Ability to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or JD law degree, with focus in space, cyber, or national security law.
Public speaking experience.
Familiarity with military culture, the JAG officer community, or U.S. national security structures.
Proficiency with HTML/Drupal a plus
