SUMMARY
The IT Auditor is responsible for helping the Internal Audit Department achieve its annual Audit Plan. For each audit engagement, the IT Auditor is responsible for participating in audit engagement planning, assessing risks and controls, developing audit tests and documenting audit results, carrying out audit field work and drafting audit reports. The IT Auditor should be able to identify control weaknesses and be able to communicate audit findings effectively to members of management in an objective manner. Strong communication skills are necessary in effectively and efficiently carrying out the assigned responsibilities, applying objectivity in the audit approach, and keeping Audit Management apprised of the ongoing status, foreseeable delays / challenges in meeting the approved timeline and budget, and potential issues arising during audit fieldwork. The IT Auditor should have basic knowledge of key areas of Information Technology risks and methods for mitigating risks and for related IT governance frameworks. Experience in conducting data analytics is also preferred. The ideal candidate should be able to multi-task, as it is often required to work on more than one audit at a time to achieve completion of the annual Audit Plan.

REQUIRED DUTIES
Accountable for assisting with the execution of the company’s internal auditing activities with a focus on IT audits and articulating complex concepts in a concise manner, both written and verbally.
Assists on complex audit projects with minimal supervision and serve as the auditor-in-charge on basic IT audit projects, including working on data analytics as needed.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills when communicating with audit clients, management, and leadership.
Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ensures compliance with related IT controls on Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, FASB, FFIEC, and other key laws, rules and regulations as well as company policies.
Ensures IT audits and related activities are completed with quality within audit schedules and budgets, including helping with issues follow-up and validation as needed.
Conducts IT audit testing and assists with the evaluation of the internal control environment.
Demonstrate practical knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of management's controls.
Ensures that audit activities comply with Internal Audit Department standards and audit workpaper standards.
May assist the Audit Department in training, mentoring and evaluating staff and in developing a strong team effort among staff members.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university; or 4+ years of related experience in banking or financial institution internal auditing; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
Knowledge of company IT audits and regulatory expectations for banking.
Experience with SOX 404 ITGC testing and internal control evaluation is a plus.
Proficiency in data analytics development is a plus.
Professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CIA or CPA) or advanced degree is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of regulatory expectations for Information Technology and related IT frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, etc.
Ability to display a high level of confidentiality.
