GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Assistant Director of Auxiliary and Operations is a key member of the leadership of the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The Assistant Director (AD) will oversee the day to day functioning of an in-hall Operations Office that addresses resident student facilities concerns; staff, faculty, and student parking programs, and all summer housing operations. The AD is a key liaison between the Residence Life and Facilities departments, ensuring that resident needs and concerns are accurately addressed and quickly resolved.
The AD provides direct supervision of two staff members who have responsibility for the Summer Housing operation and overall College Parking operation. Indirectly, the AD supervises student staff members within the department and will be called upon to represent the department at college-wide events or committees. There is an expectation that this position will serve in a shared on-call capacity with the Director and other Assistant Director to provide high level support to professional staff within the department.
Finally, the AD works collaboratively with the Director and others within the department to support the overall residence hall operation, which may require involvement in strategic planning, programmatic support, budgeting, academic year program support, move-in/out, and other related operational endeavors. Beyond Housing and Residence Life, the AD is a partner with the Director of Facilities to ensure student success is consistently honored.
The Assistant Director, with the support of the Director and Residential Life staff, is directly responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining an environment grounded in justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Serve as a key member of the overall Housing and Residence Life Department, representing the Department on Governance Committees, at College-wide events, or other capacities as assigned.
Responsible for the day to day management of the residence hall operations office.
Provide supervision, training, and evaluations for the Office Coordinator as well as Operations Coordinator. Indirectly supervise paraprofessional student staff.
Participate in yearly budgetary planning with Assistant Dean and Director of Housing and Residence Life for MSCBA and College
Engage with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Director of Facilities to develop a student centered approach to managing work orders and repairs throughout the building, as well as the damage billing process.
Update departmental documents and communications relating to operation of residence halls.
Participate in long-term capital planning and make recommendations for ongoing improvements.
Provide support to the Director of Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor in auditing work orders for completion and accuracy. Provide quarterly reports
Send, as appropriate, building-wide communications to ensure Resident Students are up to date with facilities and operational matters.
Assist with departmental assessment relating to operations.
Collaborate with the Housing Coordinator to maintain enterprise software systems for resident students, conferencing, and parking needs.
Work closely with Residence Director staff to ensure accuracy of building key boxes, key inventories, key changes, etc. - Participate in RA and RD training as needed.
Create, maintain, and/or update operations manuals for various operational functions of the department.
Share in secondary on-call structure with the Director as directed.
Participate in major Departmental initiatives such as, but not limited to: move-in, accepted students days, move-out, and summer conferences.
Other related duties as assigned.
This is a full-time, live-off, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The annual salary range for this position is $75,000- $80,000, commensurate with relevant professional experience and education.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree.
5-7 years of professional experience.
Demonstrated previous supervisory and administrative experience.
Demonstrated experience working with residence hall and summer conference operations.
Ability to deal effectively with conflicts and crises.
Demonstrated awareness/sensitivity toward JEDI - MA Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or other related field.
Previous supervision and development experience for staff and students.
Strong customer service, critical thinking, consensus building, and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience with parking management.
Ability to anticipate and successfully manage all aspects of a residential community.
Demonstrated experience in working through conflict, change, and uncertainty.
Proven collaborative work with external departments, faculty, and campus partners.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of training in Inclusivity and issues of Social Justice
