Position Description
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Neurology seeks an outstanding investigator at the Associate or Full Professor level to lead a new position as Wagner Professorship in Parkinsons Research. This leadership position will be under the direction of Dr. Benjamin Segal, MD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology, and Director of the Neuroscience Research Institute as well as Drs. Ariane Park and Pietro Manzonni, Co-Division Directors of Parkinsons disease.
The ideal candidate will be a national leader in Parkinsons research.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
- Strong faculty academic experience, with a track record of extramural funding and mentorship;
- Strong track record in translational research;
- Demonstrated leadership skills in building innovative programs as well as recruiting and retaining faculty;
- Prior demonstrated commitment to recruitment, development, and retention of women, underserved minorities, and disability status;
- An active, investigator initiated research program supported by extramural grants.
The Wagner Professorship in Parkinsons Research will have the opportunity to build a world class team of investigators, with complementary interests and skills, dedicated to increasing our understanding of different aspects of Parkinsons Disease, with a potential to focus on neurogenetics and biomarkers.

The Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. Our pioneering Division of Neurology Health Services Research and Center for the Neurobiology of Aging and Resilience are trailblazers in the field. This year alone, our faculty conducted over 320 clinical trials and studies, supported by a cutting-edge biorepository and brain bank.
