Job Description: Postdoctoral Research Position in the area of Veteran and Military Behavioral Health and Resilience at Syracuse University The D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and the Center for Health Behavior Research and Innovation (CHBRI) at Syracuse University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position focused in the area of Veteran and Military Behavioral Health and Resilience.The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work directly with Syracuse University faculty, community partners and stakeholders, and VA collaborators in studying and addressing a range of issues relevant to Veteran and Military-Connected populations (e.g., substance use and addiction, trauma, suicide risk and prevention, mental and physical well-being, sexual assault risk and prevention, stigma, discrimination, and resilience, novel mHealth assessments and interventions, RCTs and hybrid effectiveness-implementation trials, healthcare utilization, etc.).
The postdoctoral researcher will be able to make valuable contributions to ongoing research projects, while also developing their own research agenda and funding proposals. Support will also be provided for the postdoc to present at scientific conferences and participate in career development training, including grant writing, grant reviewing, and statistical workshops.
Qualifications: Applicants must possess a PhD degree in psychology, public health, biostatistics, neuroscience, or other relevant discipline, at the time of appointment. Candidates should be highly motivated scientists with strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
Job Specific Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
Lead and be a team player in designing and executing research surveys and studies.
Draft IRB amendments, maintain IRB protocols, and ensure proper execution of IRB-approved standardized operating procedures.
Assisting with grant and manuscript preparation and submission.
Executing data analyses.
Develop independent research questions and identify research funding opportunities.
Preparation and submission of study progress reports.
Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, purchase supplies, maintain instrumentation, participate in literature discussions, and contribute to writing proposals.
Other duties as assigned.
