POSITION TITLE: Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management
SUPERVISES: N/A FLSA
STATUS: 1.0 FTE, Non-Exempt Staff
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Receptionist plays a pivotal role in our commitment to superior customer service and a warm, welcoming school environment. Serving as a primary point of contact for visitors, prospective families, clients, staff, and current students in a high school setting, this position requires a blend of organizational and interpersonal skills. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work required to assist with events.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain a customer service approach, rooted in our mission and values, to all interactions with current families, visitors, guests, prospective families, and vendors. • Manage inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate information or directing them to the appropriate person or resource. • Be an active listener and work to ensure that questions and concerns are addressed or that there is a plan of action that will do so. • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our website, the parent portal, the school calendar, and other resources that families access and may need assistance navigating. • Handle incoming mail, packages, and deliveries, distributing them to the appropriate recipients. • Provide backup for the Attendance Office including attendance line and calling parents. • Maintain confidentiality and handle student information with discretion and sensitivity. • Support the Admissions and Enrollment Management and Development teams with administrative tasks and event planning. • Provide on-site support during admissions events as needed. • Actively cultivate positive, professional relationships with faculty/staff, parents/guardians, and students. • Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, even in challenging situations. • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. • Show initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving and task management. • Exhibit a high level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative assistant role. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods. SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $23.31/hour
