The City of Leavenworth, Kansas, is one of the most unique communities with a wonderful mix of old and new. It’s known as The First City in Kansas and has grown to a diverse population of 37,351 people in 24 square miles. Earning its nickname in 1854, the City of Leavenworth was founded as the very first city of Kansas and became nationally known as the “jumping off point” for the opening of the West.
