The Impact: As the Global Head of Strategy for the Ratings division of S&P Global, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our strategy. You will oversee the end-to-end strategy for the division and partner with both our Executive Leadership team and the Corporate Strategy team to design our approach, evolve our narrative, and lead delivery against our strategic initiatives. In addition to managing the Strategy team, you will bring together teams across the division to help the organization execute optimally. You closely follow industry trends and customer perspectives to evolve division-wide strategies on a global scale.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of Ratings, you will be planning to ensure the continued growth of S&P Global Ratings in the financial markets. You will drive shareholder value by enabling the company to define and achieve its objectives, while always maintaining analytical excellence as our top priority. You will provide strategic insights to our Board of Directors, our Ratings Boards, and Executive leadership.
As a critical business adviser and thought partner to the President and CFO of S&P Global Ratings and Chief Strategy Officer of S&P Global, you are a proven business leader with a deep understanding of the Credit Ratings business and its role in the Debt Capital Markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Run a comprehensive strategy process for S&P Global Ratings, including strategic planning, business development, partnerships, and M&A
Define S&P Global Ratings' strategy and priorities - supervise, structure, and drive strategic analysis across multiple topics; own and drive near and long-term strategic initiatives
Contextualize the Ratings strategy in the larger S&P Global environment, working with stakeholders across the larger enterprise to align divisional strategy with objectives at the Corporate level
Identify changes in market conditions, industry trends, regulatory environment, regional or country macro-economic factors, etc. which may require changes to strategic plan
Leverage scenario planning, case studies, and modeling capabilities to strengthen the strategy
Partner with Executive Leadership and extended teams to build-out from concept to commercialization (ideation, business case development, concept testing/ development, prototyping, and in-market piloting, etc.)
Articulate the S&P Global Ratings strategy in a clear and compelling strategic narrative to key stakeholders, tailoring messages depending on executive audience and influencing the overall strategic agenda of the division
Partner to develop business processes across the Ratings division which enable successful prioritization and resource allocation to implement our strategic initiatives
Develop the change management process and narrative, with an operational mindset from big picture, ensuring successful strategy execution
Drive acquisitions and partnerships which strengthen S&P Global Ratings' market position, and in high-priority geographic markets
Partner closely with the Ratings FP&A team to lead resource allocation processes for Ratings Leadership
Own key executive reports and metrics to measure progress towards attainment of strategic goals and lead the team managing and tracking balanced scorecards and KPI/Performance measures as well as workforce capacity assessment
Develop team members and enhance their skills and capabilities through thought leadership, project work, and one-to-one coaching
Qualifications:
15+ years in financial services, management consulting (in the areas of strategic and business planning), or in corporate development/business development roles
Debt capital markets/credit experience a strong positive
Superior strategic and analytical skills with the ability to draw key insights and develop clear recommendations
Attention to detail with the ability to dive into new topics and quickly absorb and distill large amounts of complex/detailed information into a readily digestible work product
Powerful communicator with the ability to convey messages effectively and influence decisions
Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships to help navigate complex situations
Ability to drive change within the business by working effectively across a global organization
Passion for building a diverse team and drive to create an inclusive culture
Critical experiences:
Strategy consultancy experience
Board of Directors preparation/presentation
Simultaneously managed multiple initiatives on strategy, planning, and new business development
Experience leading strategic initiatives in a matrixed enterprise environment
Demonstrated successful partnering and/or collaboration with FP&A teams, Strategy/Strategic Alliance teams (at a corporate level), and Product Development teams
Experience leading through mergers and acquisitions
Customer, investor, and/or capital markets-facing experience
Demonstrated ability to influence and effectively connect stakeholders at all levels across a highly matrixed organization
Demonstrated ability of executing initiatives including effectively prioritizing projects and meet aggressive, recurring deadlines
Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills in a team setting, including extended teams where members are not always direct reports

Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $185,000 - $290,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
