Job Description Summary: Under the direction of the Vice President of Administrative and Technology Services, the Grant Officer is responsible for identifying federal and state funding sources and works in partnership with various departments to evaluate, prepare, and apply for grants. The Grant Officer will seek out and obtain external funding to support district projects, coordinate the development of proposals in conjunction with appropriate staff, and develop grant narratives, budgets, and packaging for submittal according to all grant criteria and deadlines in alignment with the District's mission, vision, strategic goals, and diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility initiatives. The Grant Officer works with the campus community, as well as external partners, and helps identify connections between grant opportunities and priorities of departments and programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties:
Establishes, develops, reviews, and evaluates the effectiveness of identifying, applying, managing, and reporting grants.
Develops procedures and standard processes related to the various stages of grant management.
Coordinates and works with departments and divisions to identify requirements and goals of the grant, assists in writing grant proposals, and completes application forms following the requests for applications.
Disseminates information on funding opportunities on a regular basis to appropriate deans and directors and provide monthly summary reports to the supervisor on the status of various grants.
Conducts research to identify external funding sources including federal and state agencies, corporations, and foundations.
Assists in building coalitions and cooperative relationships with other colleges, community organizations, and private sector companies that enhance the competitiveness of federal grant applications.
Assists, coordinates, and/or presents various funding opportunities to the campus community.
Coordinates with various departments including but not limited to Fiscal Services, IT Services, Campus Development, Maintenance and Operations, Human Resources and Training, and the department lead in implementing the grant.
Prepares relevant documents to accept the grant for the Presidents Cabinet and the Board of Trustees.
Conducts research to help identify and prioritize the Districts grant needs.
Attend various conferences, trainings, and workshops to further enhance skills, build external connections and relationships, and enhance grant applications viability.
Demonstrates sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of the Colleges students, faculty, staff, and community.
Effectively engages and supports historically disproportionately impacted groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices.

Education and Experience: A bachelors degree from an accredited college (masters degree preferred); AND At least one year of experience in grant administration and management; AND Commitment to community college goals/objectives of being an equity-based and anti-racist institution, and providing quality programs and services for culturally, socio-economically, ethnically, and academically diverse students and students with disabilities; personal qualities to work effectively and with sensitivity in a multicultural environment; awareness of and commitment to the needs of non-traditional and/or re-entry students with diverse abilities and interests; AND Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we serve and sensitivity to and knowledge and understanding of groups historically underrepresented and groups who may have experienced discrimination.
