SUNY Empire State College seeks to appoint faculty who will join the School of Nursing and Allied Health. The role of the faculty member is to provide high-quality services to students and to enhance the college's reputation within the community. Faculty will collaboratively design online courses; teach online core and elective courses; work closely with instructional designers; assess student learning and program outcomes and participate in community college partnerships. Central to the faculty role is helping adults from diverse cultural backgrounds design and complete degrees that meet their personal and professional goals.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a health science or related field along with an associate degree/equivalent or higher in respiratory care
College-level teaching experience
Excellent and effective communication, computational, and organizational skills
Ability to work within a collaborative faculty environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching and/or advising non-traditional students
ABD or Doctorate
Experience advising and/or mentoring health professions students at the college level
Online college-level teaching experience
Knowledge of adult learning, learning technologies and online pedagogies
Experience contributing to academic programing (e.g., program/course development, assessment of student learning outcomes)
Experience mentoring and teaching non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity issues in higher education and/or through community-based work
Special Information:
Occasional travel will be required to fulfill regional and college-wide commitments
Office hours will vary to accommodate student needs
Some evening and/or weekend engagement with students is required
SUNY Empire provides faculty with a flexible work environment to meet the needs of our mostly distance learners. The successful candidate can be located at one of our sites throughout the state, including Selden, New York City, Saratoga Springs, or Rochester, with robust telecommuting available
