Position Available: MiraCosta Colleges Computer Science department invites applications for one equity-minded, full-time (10 months per year), tenure-track faculty position beginning in August 2023. Principal responsibilities include teaching a variety of computer science courses with a focus on our advanced/capstone offerings, including data structures, software engineering, and/or computer architecture, both online and on-ground; creating, reviewing, developing and evaluating courses, certificates and programs in collaboration with colleagues; integrating current research to demonstrate culturally sustaining teaching strategies promoting student success; participating in the development, assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes; participating in advisory committees to strengthen alignment between the software industry and education and cultivate employment opportunities for students. The person selected will share leadership roles with other full-time instructors in coordinating and developing curriculum and using culturally-responsive pedagogical techniques and in coordinating the overall program.IMPORTANT: MiraCosta College requires that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to promote a safe and healthful workplace for employees and to promote the health and safety of our campus community. Minimum Qualifications: To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications: 1. Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or 'Computer Science & Engineering' (an approved comparable degree at MiraCosta College) ; OR
2. Bachelors in Computer Science or Computer Engineering AND a Masters in Mathematics, Cybernetics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Engineering; OR 3. Bachelors in Engineering or Mathematics AND Masters in Cybernetics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business Administration; OR
4. Bachelors degree in any of the above AND Masters in Information Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Systems; OR
5. the equivalent. Applicants who do not possess the EXACT degree major(s) required to meet the minimum qualifications must attach an equivalency narrative and supporting documentation at the time of application.
