The Research Informatics Operations (RIO) Manager of eDC Technical Support will lead and support a technical support of the InForm eDC system at DFCI. ??RIO is a subdivision of the DFCI Informatics and Analytics (I&A) department, led by the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI).
The incumbent will manage a team that participates in the development, implementation, support, and integration of basic research, clinical research, and research administration systems.?? Working with the InForm product manager and InForm Service Operations manager; the eDC Technical Support team is responsible for continued oversight of development and infrastructure activities necessary for the support of the RIO InForm eDC systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the Director of Product Strategy Operations, RIO. The incumbent will participate in DFCI clinical research strategy, visioning, and development activities, as appropriate.
Works with the InForm product manager and InForm Service Operations manager to ensure continued oversight of development and infrastructure activities necessary for the support of the RIO InForm systems.
Works with the Customer Experience Services (CES) managers to ensure proper support activities for RIO systems.
Provides supervision and leadership for staff, including the building and maintaining of a stable work environment.
Works with direct reports, DFCI and IS department management and the respective institutional Human Resources staff to ensure that all staff are being appropriately informed, supported, trained, guided and evaluated. Provides clear channels of communication, delegation and accountability within the team for effective direction and problem-solving.
Establishes and creates a positive team environment through leadership and mentoring. Works with staff members to develop an individualized professional development path with clear goals and objectives.
Evaluates overall employee performance, behavior and well-being, completing annual performance reviews of direct reports in a timely and thorough manner and ensuring the same for all staff under his/her leadership. This work includes following the DFCI performance review process and timeline for DFCI staff.
Continually reassesses the allocation of staffing resources to meet the changing needs of both the staff and organization. Performs all other functions which constitute proper supervision of staff under his/her direction.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong knowledge and understanding of clinical research operations, especially clinical trials management, electronic data capture, and the study lifecycle.
Knowledge and experience with InForm and outcomes research.
Experience with, or exposure to, the National Cancer Institute or other comparable organizations and familiarity with relevant national initiatives a major plus.
Knowledge of, or exposure to, biomedical informatics desirable.
Proven ability to manage multiple levels of staff and projects in both a direct and matrix reporting environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of organization, most notably with high senior level executives and senior scientists and investigators.
Exhibits strong professional and proficient persona and brings a passion to improving informatics solutions to the clinical trials research world.
Demonstrated expertise in achieving consensus in highly charged arenas.
Excellent record of successfully solving complex problems across diverse departments and domains.
Demonstrated commitment to delivery of high quality customer service.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage 4 ??? 8 direct reports. May also be responsible for the oversight of off-shore development resources as needed
Minimum Education: Bachelor???s degree or equivalent experience required, ideally in a STEM field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
7+ years of relevant professional experience, with 5+ in a biomedical or healthcare setting preferred
3+ years of indirect or direct people management experience. Direct management experience preferred.
A directly relevant advanced degree may substitute for professional experience (Masters 1 yr., PhD 3 yrs.)
