Do you want to work with top-notch legal and compliance partners to provide informed and complex legal advice and legal and regulatory requirements to T-Mobile teams and business partners? T-Mobile has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Corporate Counsel role to work in the Legal Compliance group in our Bellevue, WA, Overland Park, KS, or Washington, DC offices.
Serve as the legal expert and resource on national security laws, government contracting, and related regulations and cybersecurity requirements
Experience with compliance frameworks or operational programs and a keen understanding how to foster a culture of compliance across a diverse set of requirements and teams and demonstrate credibility with external stakeholders
Support Legal Affairs, Government Affairs, product engineering, go to market teams, and other business stakeholders on existing law and in preparation for emerging legal regimes, new legislation, and compliance frameworks
Proactively collaborate with technical engineers, developers, and product managers to build solutions to challenges impacting security and regulatory obligations of our services
Partner with compliance and business leaders to define best practices and policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations to mitigate corporate risk
Lead responses to highly sensitive investigations and assessments
Serve as a critical and trusted legal advisor to business leaders on a wide array of topics relating to segment needs, including legal risk mitigation, customer management, strategic initiatives, and compliance programs
A U.S. law degree and admission to at least one state bar required
At least 18 years of age and a U.S Citizen
7+ years of experience as an attorney with relevant government, in-house, or law firm experience (at least two of three preferred)
Sound understanding or prior exposure to US public sector data laws and regulations
Desire to develop a deep subject matter knowledge on cybersecurity, CFIUS, and data governance standards and regulations
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other legal and business professionals in a complex organization with a focus on delivering guidance on tight deadlines
Ability to interact with senior management with strong executive maturity
Business acumen dealing with risk management and organizational savvy
Ability to establish self as subject matter expert in specialty fields
Keen business sense with strong judgment, writing, and decision-making skills
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and the ability to create effective PowerPoint decks and presentations
Familiarity with telecommunications industry or other large service-industry companies
Demonstrated ability to develop new processes, project manage, develop new programs, problem solve, achieve results and exercise good judgment
Familiarity working with channel partners (distributors, resellers) and related compliance issues
Understanding of cloud security certifications and standards. Examples include FedRAMP and NIST 800-53, SOC 2, ISO 27001/17/18.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local government contracting rules
Industry recognized privacy and/or security certifications are a plus (eg, CIPP/Europe, CISM, CDPSE, etc.).
Strong analytical, data reporting and database management skills a plus
