THE UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY has an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in developmental sciences, but we will consider individuals from other related areas and encourage all candidates with experience in varied disciplines to apply as we value interdisciplinary science.
The University of Rochester is a distinguished research university, and the Department of Psychology has a strong history of excellence in psychological science with internationally renowned professors. It offers outstanding opportunities for developing a research program, highly ranked doctoral programs, a very active undergraduate major, and a collaborative environment. The department has graduate programs in Clinical, Developmental and Social-Personality Psychology. There is excellent collaboration among faculty across the different areas, and close ties to other groups in the University, particularly in Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Education, Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Nursing, Pediatrics, and Engineering. The department is conveniently located across the street from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry which offers opportunities for collaborations on research, teaching and service. Qualifications: The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor rank. The developmental search will consider applicants with a Ph.D. in psychology or an advanced degree in a related field. Applicants should have a strong record of research productivity and demonstrate promise for future growth. Competitive salary and startup funds are available commensurate with experience.
