The Cost Estimator is responsible for production estimates of Ulven engineered and machined casting and forging. This role ensures optimum project management and accuracy of cost estimating to meet customer expectations, internal sales deliverables and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Analysis of technical specifications and other customer-supplied information to accurately define project scope. 
• Identify costs and lead times, as well as required production processes and material requirements. 
• Proactively identify project, schedule and/or budget issues, and propose solutions. 
• Provide project updates regularly, and as requested, to management.  
• Provide documentation for each cost element, indicating sources of data, assumptions used and any other methodology or analysis. 
• Develop and prepare cost data for proposals and contract negotiations. 
• Maintain established quote priorities based on evaluation and analysis of overall opportunities. 
• Research and evaluate alternate manufacturing processes to ensure competitive project pricing. 
• Maintain, input, and monitor all data and files for projects in ERP.
• Contract Review, Sales Order Confirmation, and Method of Manufacture creation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience in cost estimating, planning, and other areas of project controls in a manufacturing environment. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and interpret specifications, technical drawings, and customer-supplied information for manufacturing projects.
• Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in ISO-9001 and AS9100 preferred
• Knowledge and experience in ERP systems required, Epicor preferred. 
• Ability to communicate effectively, responsively and professionally with all levels of Ulven internal partners, external business partners, and customers. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s or A.A. degree a plus.
