The Team: We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled engineering leader for the Climanomics ?? platform. We strive to deliver solutions that are sector-specific, data-rich, and hyper-targeted for evolving business needs. This leader would help us to accelerate our Climate Analytics work.
The Impact: We are seeking an Associate Director, Software Development to provide technical leadership for all stages of software design, development, and maintenance for applications. This person would be part of a development team that will work to improve and enhance the architecture, design, scalability, and performance of our cutting-edge Climanomics ?? platform.

Provides leadership in execution and delivery to technology teams in support of the for Climanomics ?? platform.
This includes leading and coordinating activities throughout development and ensuring the appropriate use of standard models and software packages, standard methods of integration, as well as the development of common application services.
Ensure that the best development processes and technologies are used in the design, construction, and implementation of applications
Ensures timely delivery of the application development projects without compromising the quality and performance of the system
What We're Looking For:
Bachelors/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
10+ years' experience in application development (including application architecture)
4+ years of people management experience with 1+ years of managing managers
Demonstrates leadership in building relationships with business partners and/or clients
Experience with the PERN stack Experience with server-side development in Node.js, Express.js, Python, Go
Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development
Experience with large datasets and ETL pipelines in cloud environments (preferably with Postgres, DynamoDB, and DocumentDB)
Atlassian Jira Software and Service Management for agile software development and ticketing
IBM Cloud and AWS hosting infrastructure
Apache Kafka distributed event streaming platform
Leveraging CI and CD pipelines to maximize throughput and container-based deployment with Kubernetes, Docker.
Expertise in building even driven scalable & resilient systems
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success while choosing the proper methodologies and policies to support broad business goals
Familiarity and/or enthusiasm with Data Science / Machine Learning is a plus
Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience in SnowFlake, Databricks
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,800 to $230,200. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
