General Description:
The Registrar is the guardian of the academic records and as such is responsible for the overall administration of the Registrar's Office. This includes planning and budgeting as well as implementation and evaluation of the policies and procedures for the Office of the Registrar and college-wide policies and procedures related to academic records.
Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversees the Office of the Registrar, including hiring, supervision and evaluation of department staff and student workers.
· Plans, directs, and evaluates operations of the office including preparing and monitoring budget and developing long-range goals for the department.
· Manage and upgrade as needed the software that supports the academic records of the College. Acquire expertise in Coursedog and Colleague SIS, expanding functionality and integration with other systems.
· Advise administrators of new laws, and external regulations that may impact the College.
· Maintains student records and official academic records of the College, ensuring security and integrity of student records in accordance with FERPA as well as Federal and State regulations.
· Manage the College's international student regulations and staff who assists with cultural adjustment and academic culture; English language matters; financial issues; orienting to life in the U.S.; and navigating the campus and community.
· Guides the Designated School Official (DSO) and SEVIS management for the College's reporting and compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Department of State (DOS) requirements.
· Directs and monitors the maintenance, confidentiality, and accuracy of all past, present, and future student records.
· Compile and report academic and other information to internal and external authorities. Including but not limited to compliance with statutory reporting requirements to federal and state governments (e.g., IPEDS, OSHE, SEVIS), accreditors, and voluntary associations.
· Undertake studies and analysis of institutional research data relevant to the College.
· Administers policies related to degree requirements and to the requirements and credit distribution of programs of study.
· Supervises degree audit and certifies completion of degree requirements.
· Oversees evaluation of transfer credit.
· Collaborates with the Division of Academic Affairs to develop the College calendar.
· Collaborates with the Division of Academic Affairs to implement class schedules.
· Supervise staff providing specialized customer service to members of the various branches of military service, veterans, and their dependents, including administration of certification of enrollment for students receiving MGIB, Post 9-11 Chapter 33, GI Bill payments, and vocational rehabilitation benefits in VA-ONCE
· Serves as liaison with Information Technology Services and identifies computer programming needs for student information system to include web-based registration, grading and other web based processes.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Master's Degree.
Experience:
· Minimum two (2) years of management-level service in a registrar's office with a demonstrated record of excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and administration.
· Proven technical and analytical skills. Working knowledge of student information systems and scheduling software (Colleague and Coursedog experience preferred).
· Minimum two (2) years of management or supervisory experience.
Competencies and Skills Required:

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
· Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
· Some travel required.
