The Business & Exit Planning Advisor is an entrepreneurial individual and part of the rapidly growing Financial Planning team responsible for advising current, and future clients how to ensure their wealth is strategically managed now and in the future. In a consultative and collaborative value-added approach, the Business & Exit Planning Advisor will develop proactive, integrated, and customized strategies to help clients achieve their business and personal financial goals through Busey's tailored advisory and financial planning services. This position will report to the SVP and Tax & Financial Planning Specialist Team Lead.
In partnership with Market leaders and the Family Office, implement and promote the strategy for delivery of business advisory and exit planning services to high-net-worth business owners through:
Developing proactive, integrated, and customized strategies to help clients achieve their business, financial and personal goals
Applying well-developed consultative sales and wealth planning principles, practices and techniques in client interactions
Lead the development of educational and training programs in the area of business owner planning
Provide commentary and awareness on emerging business succession planning trends relevant to business owners, such as mergers & acquisition, business valuation, taxation, estate planning, sound business and family governance and philanthropy
Develop/maintain internal and external networks and referral sources to ensure ongoing growth of the business
Consult with clients and their external advisors on complex business exit planning issues, as required

Partner with all appropriate team members to provide a broad-based solutions approach for specific client situations:
Coordinate with clients and their external advisors on complex business exit planning issues, as required;
Act as a subject matter expert spokesperson on business exit planning both internally and externally; includes presentations and seminars within the organization, as well as clients and prospects
Develop content in the areas of business exit and business owner planning for use as training material, internal resource material, all mediums, whitepapers and client facing material

EDUCATION, TRAINING & STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field; CFP(r), CPA, CEPA preferred
Minimum of 5 years' experience providing exit planning advice
Experience working in a matrixed team of professionals with deep subject matter expertise
Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge
Knowledge of tax, estate planning considered a plus
