The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will use tools and methodologies to enhance our business and financial performance by systematically responding to customer needs, improving portfolio mix, growing market share, impacting pricing policies, and other important business levers to drive growth and overall operational excellence. Black belts will lead and collaborate on high visibility business projects.
As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading and supporting projects that have high impact on business results
- Directly supporting MBB's culture change activities
- Consistently seeking, sharing, and implementing best practices
- Teaching, mentoring and coaching Green Belts to optimize functioning of Lean Six Sigma teams
- Looking for applicability of tools and methods to areas outside of current focus
- Lead the hopper process in support of Process Owners and Champions
- Communicating progress to Champions, Leadership Teams, and Master Black Belts
- Establishing control plans and monitoring appropriate metrics to validate project results are achieved, track improvements, and sustain gains
- Influencing the organization cross-functionally and leading management of change activities
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- High Potential Code in your current or recent Employee Performance Review
- Prior experience participating in Green Belt Projects and/or Green Belt Certification
- Demonstration of Cultural Elements
- Effective facilitation, communication and teaching skills
The job grade for this position will be aligned with the successful candidate's current job grade. The job grade range for this role is JG 10-14. Candidates that are below the job grade minimum are welcome to apply and will be assessed for potential promotion into the role should they be selected.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
