Job Summary:
The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Lead Technologist, Clin Lab Tech 2, Pathology/Chemistry & Immunology. The successful candidate will:
Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other testes or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
Function as the Lead Technologist.
Adhere to departmental, hospital, and government regulations.
Train personnel in technical methodologies and interpretation of results.
Maintain laboratory inventory and statistics.
Assign appropriate staff to assure a smooth workflow.
Assist in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratory.
Be flexible, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.
Required Qualifications:
New York State Licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Science preferred.
ASCP certification preferred.
Work Schedule:
Variable Days; Variable Hours

SL-3
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications
