Reporting to the IP Program Manager, the IP Docketing Specialist provides a variety of administrative functions to the Intellectual Property Team within the Legal Department. The IP Docketing Specialist is responsible for processing intellectual property-related correspondence, docketing deadlines for IP activities in the Institute???s electronic database, and performing other tasks related to the protection and maintenance of Institute intellectual property assets.?? The IP Docketing Specialist will interface with Institute faculty and staff members as well as external law firms, business partners, and collaborating institutions.??

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process intellectual property-related correspondence from government agencies, external law firms, and other third parties.
Enter information, including new intellectual property assets and new IP activities and associated deadlines, in the Institute???s electronic database.
Store intellectual property-related correspondence and electronic copies of documents in the database.
File and maintain hardcopy files of executed documents and trademark specimens.
May assist the IP Coordinators with preparing IP assignments, declarations, and other formal documents, coordinating their execution by faculty and staff members, and sending the executed documents to external partners and/or recording the executed documents.
May be responsible for quality checks on existing data in the Institute???s electronic database.
May perform duties related to other special projects as required.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor???s degree or equivalent experience or training required; at least one year of U.S. and foreign patent docketing experience required, preferably in a law firm or comparable business environment.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and research abilities.
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and other computer applications.
Exceptional organization skills and adeptness at prioritizing tasks.
Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
Respect for and willingness to protect highly confidential and sensitive information.
