The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a UX Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leads a team focused on continual improvement of customer experiences on 3M digital products, including defining well designed, accessible and usable interfaces that solve customer pain points and achieve business goals.
Responsible for the on-time execution and quality of UX delivery for the team, supports decision making and removing barriers for the team.
Supports the team's delivery of strong outcomes through UX process and tool best practices, coaching and jumping in when needed to lead by example.
Determines and implements activities to ensure teamwork, team member growth and how the work we deliver supports end-to-end digital experiences and organizational strategies.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the UX team
Partner with and influence Product Owners, stakeholders and cross-functional SMEs and external suppliers to ensure alignment of scope, priority of UX delivery.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Six (6) years combined experience as Information Architect, User Experience or Visual Design, Interaction Design or other UX related role in a private, public, government or military environment
Three (3) years experience supervising team members
Two (2) years experience with Agile development, including scrum ceremonies
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience with Dual Track Agile or Lean UX
Degree in UX, Human Factors, Marketing, Communications or equivalent experience
Ability to respectfully challenge assumptions and engage others in dialogue to define solutions
Excellent communication and comfortable presenting to a wide variety of audiences, from team members to stakeholders and executives
Comfortable supporting team with wireframing tools such as Sketch, Figma, Axure, Balsamiq or similar
Familiar with Design and Prototyping tools such as InVision, Photoshop, InDesign, or similar tool
Experience implementing or leveraging an enterprise Design System.
Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative user research practices.
Strong time management and ability to be self-directed.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
