The Impact You'll Make in this Role As part of the Industrial Adhesives and Tape Division (IATD) Global Marketing Operations team, the IATD Global Transportation SegmentLeader will be the market expert in customer needs, trends, and competition accessing untapped market opportunities by working cross-function, cross-portfolio, cross-division and cross-geography in Automotive, Rail, Specialty Vehicle (Bus, Truck, and Trailer). This role will work closely with IATD Global Portfolio Leaders, Area Segment Marketers, Area Portfolio Leaders, Global Insights Leader, Global R&D, AASD Segment Marketing, and the SIBG Market Center to accelerated growth and New Product Ideation for the Transportation market within 3M's Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and provide strategic thought leadership and growth opportunity assessment including industry trends, customer needs, competitive intelligence, industry innovations, end-user, and market opportunities for the Construction Transportation segment.
Lead the Transportation segment marketing plan. Drive segment growth with objectives, strategies, tactics, and metrics tied to both Global and Area budgets; Develop global deployment playbooks and country activation plans to drive penetration and growth.
Champion the Transportation Global Marketing Technology Roadmap, defining customer needs supporting new product development by working with a marketing and technical cross functional team, in partnership with SIBG Design Center, Market Center, and R&D. Support commercialization launches that coincide with the needs/wants of the customer within the segment marketing plan.
Responsible for portfolio growth in Transportation, leveraging the robust current portfolio offerings as well as new product opportunity development. Collaborate with portfolio leaders on portfolio prioritization into the Transportation segment.
Provide strategic thought-leadership for the division on sales coverage models, go to market models, customer experience, new product ideation, product portfolio market share and market penetration.
Manage the Transportation opportunity hopper for growth globally, including coordinating with area teams to ensure alignment on pricing and product selection.
Lead the eMobility Agile team to ensure global EV opportunity development.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years experience in a business global leadership role
Seven (7) combined years of experience in marketing, business development, and/or strategic planning
MBA or Master's degree from an accredited institution
Experience and or knowledge of the transportation value stream and/or transportation go to market model
Experience and or knowledge of key transportation stakeholders such as Design Engineers
Strategic marketing experience including customer insights, market trends, voice of customer, creating positioning within a market segment, creating marketing programs focused on end customer, sales, and channel
Experience interpreting market research or market insights in concert with additional data and business results
Ability to develop and foster relationships across industry Key Opinion Leaders and key customer stakeholders
Marketing, end-user campaign development, and/or digital user experience
Location: St. Paul, Minnesota
Travel: May include up to 40% domestic/international
Relocation: Is not authorized
