The Role: S&P Global Platts is looking for a consultant to help drive forward its LNG Analytics service, with a particular focus on the LNG value chain emissions markets. This exciting role will be pivotal in developing analytical and models that underpin our market-leading services. The role will make use of your knowledge of LNG, natural gas and value chain emissions and will leverage your strong quantitative and modelling skills.

The Impact: Platts Analytics is a global team responsible for analyzing, interpreting and forecasting global commodity/energy market fundamentals and prices. Our customers represent a wide range of activities across the energy industry and, as a result, our analysis is reviewed and challenged from many different perspectives. You will play a key role in supporting Platts Analytics' highly rated services and could also play a role in developing these services into major new growth areas.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,900 to $150,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
Study factors that contribute to the current and future of LNG and natural gas market development with a focus on emissions profiles and their impact on value
Utilize understanding of LNG and natural gas modeling to develop view on natural gas and LNG asset-level emissions intensity
Collect and compile data for scientific analysis related to various forms of emission
Analyze samples, surveys, and other information to identify and assess impact on fugitive emissions.
Harness existing data sets, identify new, valuable data sets for collection and analysis and conduct rigorous reviews of the quality of that information.
Research, collect, organize, standardize, process, and analyze market data.
Develop and adhere to independent, transparent methodology for all analytical processes.
Demonstrate a dynamic approach to learning and a passion for the LNG and natural gas industry
Deliver succinct, high-quality and accurate written content that demonstrates expertise.
Create charts, graphs and other visually valuable content that illustrates the trends Platts' customers need to follow.
Exhibit best practice behaviors in all business activities to uphold ethical and business standards to build on and maintain high levels of staff engagement.
What we're looking for: Basic Qualifications
Minimum of five years directly related experience traditionally acquired by working in industry, government, or consulting
Experience modeling complex energy systems
Proven experience in modelling natural gas or LNG emissions profiles
Understanding of global LNG and natural gas market drivers and fundamentals
Familiarity with greenhouse gas emissions accounting and reporting
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) are required
Knowledge of mathematical, statistical and modelling concepts and research methods.
Experience with SQL, Tableau, Matlab, VBA, SAS, or cube data structure would be useful but not essential
Ability to build and maintain best-practice procedures and documentation of models and processes.
Ability to tackle problems and take independent action.
Track record for delivering against demanding targets and deliverables. Comfortable with high levels of responsibility and accountability.
Proficient in identifying, gathering, and analyzing information and data to solve problems effectively.
Ability to recognize trends and provide recommendations and develop logical conclusions.
Verbal and written fluency in English is essential.
Excellent communication skills which include ability to listen; concise written style; and good verbal skills. Has the ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities.
Experience interpreting satellite remote sensing data to quantify methane emissions
Experience quantifying Methane emissions from oil/gas related infrastructure using remote sensing.
Familiarity with emission inventories.
Knowledge of other languages, especially from Asia, would be highly beneficial.
