Under the supervision of the Associate Registrar/Director of Academic Evaluations, provides academic evaluation of previously earned credits for students. The position requires knowledge of University's degree requirements for various curriculums, knowledge of University procedures for evaluating academic credentials and the ability to use computers in the processing of evaluations.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent as determined by the appointing authority.
Experience: Two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or administration in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college).
Examples of Work:
-Authenticates and evaluates transcripts and results of examinations submitted by students -Evaluates course content for the purpose of classification -Reviews non-collegiate courses completed in the military, business or government and awards credit when recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) or National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) -Works proficiently with the Colleague student database and OnBase imaging system -Monitors and enforces academic policy -Monitors the progress of students toward specific degree programs -Effectively communicates the results of evaluations to student and responds to any questions concerning the completed evaluation -Recommend alternative ways to enhance overall Registrar’s Office activities, as needed -Other duties as assigned by the Associate Registrar/Director of Academic Evaluations
