The position may be hired at either the Budget Analyst or Sr. Budget Analyst level. The position is a part of the team in the Office of Performance, Strategy, and Budget (PSB). PSB's primary roles are assisting the County Executive in preparation of the annual adopted budget and helping to create and implement the County's strategic plan. The County Executive often assigns PSB other special projects.
The Budget Analyst position is an entry-level position, the Sr. Budget Analyst position is for candidates with budget and/or public policy experience.
The positions are responsible for analyses and recommendations on several major departmental budgets, public policy, fiscal and management analysis studies, and budget administration.
The ideal candidate will be strong in quantitative analysis and public policy. They will be able to connect the dots between an individual analysis and the big picture.
Budget Analyst: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field.
Sr. Budget Analyst: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field. Master's degree preferred. 3 years recent experience in Budget or Policy Analysis.
Note: Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Additional Salary Information: Budget Analyst: $55,451 to $63,690
Sr. Budget Analyst: $63,690 to $86,855
