The Impact: This position will serve as the Finance business partner to our North American Financial Sales Leader and Global Segment head for S&P's Financial Institution segments and Desktop Product. As a member of the Business Partnership team, you will engage with your business partners to analyze, interpret, and advise on commercial and financial performance data to inform leadership decisions. In this role, you will gain a robust understanding of our overall business as well as the segment and regional nuances that your commercial and segment partners work with. The Business partnership team is a central part of our organization ensuring that we stay connected with business partners to connect challenges and opportunities across silos and surface the most impactful insights and support to our organization.
What the Hiring Manager is looking for: Impactful analysis starts and ends with a solid understanding of the business. As the primary business partner of both the commercial teams and product/segment teams, you will get immediate exposure to how our leadership interacts with clients and strategize on growth. This position requires a skilled and proven financial manager adept at drawing insights from data in the context of commercial workflows. Proven ability to provide value-added advisory and decision support for senior executives. Ability to collaborate with and influence partners across functions (Finance, Product, etc) to build an exceptional reporting and analytics practice, generating insights that provide MI with a competitive advantage. Ability to communicate data insights visually and verbally with full business context.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $83.2k to $190.1k. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
Serve as the primary support for the North America Commercial Region (Financial Institutions) as well as the Global FI Segments and Desktop Product
Building partnerships and strong relationships with senior managers and their teams
Provide analysis on client related analysis (new sales, renewal/ price performance, usage, visits, leads, etc) by utilizing commercial data and financial results
Help create and understand risks and opportunities on monthly commercial forecasts and actively participate and add insights during monthly reviews
Manage the ACV Budget process and provide analysis on risks and opportunities across the NA Region, Financial Segments, and Desktop product
Manage annual commercial quota setting process for NA Region and partner closely with the commissions team to ensure final targets are set and tracked correctly
Partner with Finance counterparts including commercial / product expenses, client analytics, and data governance to centralize analytics, communicate reporting needs, and general knowledge share.
Coordinate with Client Analytics to develop reporting dashboards that support improved analytics workflows and manager self-service
Partner with Predictive Analytics group to incorporate advanced analytics results into reporting workflows (e.g. account health scores, pricing optimization, usage insights)
5+ years of experience in financial management, analytics
Experience conducting analyses, interpreting results and providing advisory and decision support to senior executives
Track record of proactively producing high quality, advanced analytics, interpretation and presentation of results
Ability to creating clear, intuitive reporting that captures insights in the simplest possible visual and written presentation; Experience working in Einstein Analytics a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
