The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Key Account Sales Manager will be responsible for overall sales and business development of key OEMs within the Commercial Vehicle Transportation market. The Key Account Manager is accountable for top line sales and strengthening partnerships at the OEMs for Aearo Technologies LLC, a 3M company. Key responsibilities include having a global understanding of the OEMs business, working with the design centers, plants, and key functions to identify opportunities for Aearo Technologies LLC, a 3M company. This role will also be expected to represent the customer internally and work with cross functional teams to execute customer requirements.
As a Key Account Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Managing and developing new business at accounts
Driving projects, sales, and commercial activities in assigned region.
Accurately communicating customer insights and opportunities to cross functional teams.
Leading new product introduction at OEMs with internal teams
Developing strong customer relations in major and potential accounts.
Continuously updating and communicating status of programs. Facilitates effective coordination of customers' needs with primary internal groups (engineering, quotations, project management, product development, customer service, quality, and other support functions).
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position (if applicable)
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Science disciplines (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Seven (7) years of sales and marketing technical related solutions in a private, public, government or military environment
Current, Valid Driver's license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position (if applicable)
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Mechanical (or Acoustic) Engineering degree
Experience within the Automotive Transportation Industry
Experience with Commercial Vehicle OEM and Specialty Vehicle Manufacturing
Successful track record of large multi-national account development and penetration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with multi-cultural, global design teams and OEM's in the U.S.
Travel: May include up to 80% domestic travel
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
