General Overview The Quality and Patient Experience (QPE) department delivers on the Board's vision to advance a culture of treating patients with dignity, respect and equity; within our institutions and in the communities we serve; promote a reliable, consistent, and coordinated care experience across institutions; and achieve the best clinical outcomes possible. Seeking experienced healthcare professional with strong process improvement, project management and analytic skills to create a cycle for enterprise work, department specific, that identifies and implements equity focused patient care improvement projects. In partnership with clinical leaders, this person will work to launch a program that eventually is enterprise wide, and applied to all clinical settings and departments (e.g. primary care, postacute, specialty,etc.) in subsequent years of program. Support the design and execution of programming that systematically evaluates and redesigns clinical guidelines that use racialized medicine in decision making. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills, professional maturity, attention to detail and analytic competence. The Specialist will work closely with a newly created team, reporting to the Mass General Brigham Associate Chief Quality Officer, tasked with generating rapid and sustained improvements that result in equal health outcomes for all patients regardless of race, ethnicity or language. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • In concert with the Program Director of Health Equity and the Associate Chief Quality Officer, this person will lead Mass General Brigham's enterprise efforts to improve patient health equity and quality and its related work, by supporting implementation of programming that results in an annual patient equity goal for every Mass General Brigham clinical department. • Introduce a program that facilitates the identification and implementation of process improvement efforts focused on healthcare equity, that touch each Mass General Brigham institution by department. • Develop or leverage existing training programs such as the Mass General Brigham Clinical Process Improvement Leadership program, to create and sustain the realization of these patient care improvement goals. • Convene multiple working groups of clinical and operation and support working group project management from project identification to launch and completion of process improvement. • Liaise with data analysts in design of analyses, data visualization, develop monitoring tools, presentation of findings to leadership audiences. • Support the education of staff on cultural competency of providers and administrative personnel to ensure a culture of inclusion for all patients regardless of race, ethnicity or language. • Measure and share variations in patient outcomes based on race, ethnicity, language • Other work as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications • Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience OR Masters degree and 2+ years of experience • Experience in quality improvement, healthcare consulting, policy analysis, or quality/financial data analysis and reporting preferred. • Familiarity with PDSA and Lean Six Sigma competence and experience. • Familiarity with Virtual Healthcare delivery and concepts a plus, in particular Epic Skills/Abilities/Competencies • Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills • Ability to prioritize and resolve critical issues efficiently and effectively • Ability to work with all levels of an organization • Ability to effectively present ideas and information • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong commitment to customer service • Ability to work independently • Ability to flex within a dynamic organization/policy environment. • High degree of initiative and enthusiasm for learning new concepts and working with new tools and sources of information. • Demonstrated commitment to health equity, antiracism, social justice causes, or community development.
