General Summary/Overview Statement: The primary role of this position will be to design, develop and support large-scale, mission-critical, multi-site web applications using several modern web technologies like React, NodeJS, VUE, BOOTSTRAP, etc. Responsibilities will include participation in software design sessions with the users, and working in close coordination with PeC Extensions, UI Integration teams, and other MGB innovation groups. Additionally, the position will require being part of the team's on-call rotation. As new projects arise, this person may assume other responsibilities. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Functions as technical leader for multiple, complex applications utilizing demonstrated ability to deliver technical solutions to the problems and challenges inherent in related projects. - Will be involved in all phases of project life cycle, assisting in the technical design, coding, implementation, and maintenance of the assigned systems. - Works with the project team, which includes users and analysts, to develop technical solutions which integrate with the current systems. - Develops project related technical work plans, including technical specifications, delivery schedules, and ensures adherence. - Collaborates with other IS staff (Operations, Network Services, Information Security, etc.) to provide inter-disciplinary technical solutions. - Collaborates with PeC groups for all integrations with Epic. - Collaborates with the team to maintain internal documentation for new and existing applications. - Participate in the groups on-call rotation for support. - Must be a self-starter and stay current on emerging technologies in the industry. - Performs all other duties as assigned. - Uses the Mass General Brigham values to govern their decisions, actions and behaviors. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience. • At least 4 years of progressive work experience in developing web applications. • Experience with ASP.NET, .NET Core, C#, React, MVC, HTML/JavaScript/Ajax, and XML required. • Experience with responsive UI design utilizing frameworks like Bootstrap. • Experience with jQuery and AngularJS libraries. • Experience with Relational Database design and development using MS SQL Server. • Experience developing with RESTful and SOAP web services. • Experience with Epic Integration principles and knowledge of Intersystems' Cache is desired. • Proficiency with developing reports using MS SQL Server Reporting Services is desired. • Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Team Foundation Server, Azure Dev Ops, and SharePoint is desired. • Experience with Agile, Scrum or CMMI software development methodologies is desired. Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required • Understanding of distributed web application development concepts and object-oriented programming. • Experience developing large-scale applications using modern frameworks like React, Bootstrap, etc. • Exposure to systems analysis, application design and testing. Ability to write clear technical documentation. • Able to act independently or under very general direction. • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization. • Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others with different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization. • Ability to assist developers and analysts in coding, testing, implementing, and maintaining systems. • Desire to learn and stay updated on emerging technologies and trends. Working Conditions: MGB has implemented special remote working policies due to COVID-19.
