Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers' financial needs.
Enterprise Analytics and Data Science (EADS) is seeking an experienced data and analytics professional to develop and implement a DataOps transformation strategy including: organizational readiness, executive advocacy approaches, technology recommendations, implementation plan options along with detailed plan, enterprise-scalable approach and best practices. This role will work in partnership across the analytic, data and technology organizations as well as across the Analytic Target Operating Model (ATOM) Program Teams leveraging DataOps principles to transform the way analytics is done at Wells Fargo. This leadership role will need to bring DataOps expertise to shape, guide and successfully implement DataOps at scale for the analytic community. It will be critical to determine quick wins to begin delivering business value quickly. Additionally, this person will evangelize, drive understanding as well as adoption of DataOps practices.
ATOM is a high priority initiative under the Data Transformation Program (DTP) with board level visibility and milestones. This work thread has significant visibility, delivery responsibilities and implications for the entire Wells Fargo Analytic Community. This role will protect and improve the analytic community's ability to perform analytics by providing a path as well as guardrails for analytics, which meets heightened standards for governance and risk management in an increasingly centralized data and technology environment.
Create the DataOps strategy and obtain senior leadership support.
Establish a scalable, integrated DataOps approach inclusive of people, processes, procedures, technology, tools, etc.
Develop integrated, executable, measurable DataOps implementation plan that delivers business value.
Support adoption of DataOps through socialization, advocacy, measurement, etc.
Gather and represent analytic needs for stakeholders across the Company and integrate those needs as appropriate.
Bring experiences in agile, DevOps and Lean manufacturing type skills like statistical process controls along with a continuous improvement mind set.
Coach multiple teams in Data Ops approach, process and tools while driving business awareness of methodology.
Ability to work in an environment where creative tension is embraced and outcome thinking along with delivery is the goal.
10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis
2+ years of academic research experience
2+ years of communication experience in one or a combination of the following: facilitating technical conferences, publishing articles, or delivering tailored presentations
5+ years of analytics experience
5+ years of process design or improvement experience
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
8+ years of leadership experience
8+ years of Agile experience
Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
Other Desired Qualifications
Previous experience implementing a Data Ops approach
3+ years of DevOps experience
Experience in data, analytics, automation and technology fields and preferably a combination of all four areas
Track record of delivering significant analytic, strategy execution or customer operations value in a line of business or function.
Experience with GitHub and/or Data Kitchen is a plus
