Data Management & Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers' financial needs.
DMI's Information Architecture organization works in partnership with IT and business leaders to architect information strategies and data plans aligned with Wells Fargo's mission, strategy, goals, and objectives. DMI's strategic direction for creating an Enterprise Data Environment and move strategic data assets to this environment creates a need for identification/tracking and remediation of the gaps between current or planned implementation and target state conceptual architecture (Enterprise Data Blueprint).
The Data Management Consultant is a critical team player within the DMI Information Architecture Team.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Function as the Subject Matter Expert on Wells Fargo's Enterprise Data Blueprint and focus on applying the existing/ evolving criteria for Information Architecture Alignment Assessments both in the Application as well as Project space.
Have a foundational understanding of Data concepts, such as Data Lake, to lead sessions in educating leaders in both the business and technology space (such as ABOs, Technology Managers and other leaders at all levels of the organization)
Obtain buy-in and participation in DMI Information Architecture Alignment Assessments in order to execute, track and bring visibility to Gaps/ Exceptions (which would ultimately lead to remediation).
Have an in-depth understanding of/ contribute to the emerging Wells Fargo's Enterprise Data Governance Policy as applicable to the Architecture Alignment Assessment process and communicate/educate as necessary.
Lead and participate in the identification of the Architectural Gaps by working with DMI Information Architects as well as various other SMEs such as Business Data Leaders, Technology Manager/Technical Leads and WFT Systems Architects.
Internalize architectural solutions and technical specification documents and recommend remediation strategies for Information Architecture Alignment.
Put together metrics and communication material for all levels of management in order to bring broader visibility to Information Architecture Alignment & Gap Tracking.
7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis
Other Desired Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a Development, Systems Engineering or Architecture role
3+ years of strong business analysis/business consulting skills for investigating business situations, identifying and evaluating options for improving business systems, defining information requirements and ensuring the effective use of information solutions in meeting the needs of the business.
Understanding of Architecture concepts related to Data Management
Ability to look at Technical Documentation and translate into business speak using strategic insight.
Knowledge of Wells Fargo's business and/or technologies
Basic knowledge and understanding of the technical application of concepts, practices and procedures in the architectural management of data within a single application or system component
Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) & Microsoft Visio (or comparable tool) skills.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
