The Business Associate (BA) Program is an exciting pathway into our firm for graduating, undergraduate Bachelor's students who are interested in the variety of career opportunities available in the investment management industry. This three-year, London based program will help you gain insight into our industry, firm and culture, as well as knowledge of the many different business divisions that support our investment functions.
We expect new entrants to join the Business Associate Program in July 2020. During your first two weeks with us, you will be assimilated into the firm through our virtual Base Camp Development Program. This program is designed to equip you with new skills and knowledge of our clients, industry, firm, and culture while developing a strong internal network that will set you up for a successful transition into the firm. By investing in your personal growth on day one, you will help us continue to exceed our client's expectations.
Wellington Management Funds Global ("WMF Global") group develops and oversees a variety of commingled funds offered to a diverse set of Wellington's clients from over 40 countries worldwide.WMF Global sponsors over 80 funds totaling AUM of $44 billion, spanning the full range of Wellington's product offerings, including equity, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives. WMF Global has funds domiciled in Ireland (UCITS), Luxembourg (UCITS and AIFs), as well as in Cayman, Canada and Australia.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Regulation : Prepare agenda and materials for monthly meetings on regulatory change, minute monthly meetings on regulatory change, follow-up on regulatory action items, keep the regulatory tracker up to date and make it available on SharePoint.
Correspondence with regulators : Assist with responding to regulatory queries in a timely manner, Maintain records of regulatory interactions.
Business Policies and Procedures: Support the process of reviewing business policies and procedures (e.g. follow-up with colleagues, help with formatting policy documents). Maintain up to date policy books and make them available on SharePoint.
Board meetings : Assist with the preparation of Board agendas. Request and collate Board materials and follow-up with contributors. Assist with the review of materials (individual Board memos and complete Board packs). Follow-up on Board action points. Prepare Board meeting schedules/timings/and set-up presentation slots and send materials to Board meeting attendees.
Management Committee : Follow-up on action points. Review of materials (individual memos and complete packs). Assist with the drafting of meeting minutes. Prepare and review checklists/procedures. Assist with collating information for appointments to the Boards and the Management Committee. Reconcile corporate documents/files (e.g. appointment letters/signed minutes). Set-up and maintain the WMF Global Governance SharePoint sites.
Operation : Setting up accounts / portfolios on AIM, monitoring dealing daily checks, confirming large flows with PM teams, answering basic mailbox queries.
Financial Statement: Assist with the review of financial statements during financial reporting peak periods, i.e review of the FAS level reports, the broker confirmations, etc.
Accounting : The monthly oversight of the ManCo corporate accounting.
NAV: Daily NAV performance monitoring, including discrepancy research, month end recons, and maintaining various tools used to track performance, and various reporting requirements.
Product Development: Support the group's active launch of new funds, by conducting competitive analysis and running various reports and analytics to help the team design the optimal fund architecture. In addition, there will be opportunities to help the PD team on major project initiatives, as well as helping on presentation work.
Undergraduates from all majors graduating with a Bachelor's degree
