The mission of the Global Product Group (GPG) is to bring even greater innovation, discipline, and focus to BlackRock's investment product line by better aligning client businesses, investment businesses, and corporate functions in the design and execution of product strategy. GPG oversees the product management process, including strategy, design & development, structuring, and governance. In addition, the Global Product Group partners with our client businesses globally to ensure consistency in our product campaigns and messaging.
The Institutional Product Development team within GPG is responsible for product development across our Hedge Fund, Collective Trust Funds ("CTF") and Canadian Pooled Funds enabling growth and innovation, discipline and focus across BlackRock's investment product line. We partner closely with Product Strategy, Client Business and Corporate Functions to drive opportunities through to funding and across product lifecycle events. The comparatively small size of the team offers the opportunity to assume significant responsibility as team members work closely with senior investment product professionals across all functions and interface with other BlackRock teams.
In addition to product development, the team continuously works to increase efficiencies, streamline, centralize and quality-control information delivered to clients, prospects and investment management consultants across our Hedge Fund platform.
Key responsibilities include:
Product management and oversight of the fund lifecycle of Cayman, Collective Trust Funds and Canadian Pooled Funds ("Funds"): launching of new funds, changes to existing funds and fund closures
Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of BlackRock's processes, operating environment and investment products. Ability to communicate unique requirements of our Funds to business partners
Project management: drive initiatives to streamline processes and increase efficiencies including fund performance reporting, due diligence questionnaires, etc.
Fulfill ad hoc data and reporting requests from internal and external parties
Review, understand and have the ability to discuss governing documents, including side letters
Assist with day-to-day contact with clients, facilitating their requirements and coordinating internal support where required
Effectively educate ICB on business operations and regulatory requirements related to our Funds
Work with third-part database and risk aggregator providers – including HFR, HFM, Bloomberg, RiskMetrics, etc.
Coordinate and communicate Fund product changes
Overseeing internal estimates and regional hedge fund factsheets
Quarterly update of firm level Hedge Fund DDQ responses
Semi-annual update of Hedge Fund product inventory and "cheat sheet"
What we look for:
Results-oriented self-starter focused on execution with ambitious work ethic and professional disposition
Passionate about problem-solving and continuous learning. Able to imagine the first step towards solving a business challenge and to quickly pivot to a different approach if warranted. Willing and able to learn new toolsets and approaches as business needs change
Strong team player who takes a collaborative approach to tasks, but is also comfortable working independently
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize effectively, multi-task quickly and efficiently, adapt to new situations in a fast-paced environment and follow-through on medium to long-term projects
We thrive in analytical and collaborative settings and are looking for a team member to work with us and our BlackRock partners to provide essential infrastructure support across BlackRock's global hedge fund, collective trust fund, and Canadian pooled fund platforms
Ability to build relationships and work with all levels of personnel within BlackRock, including investment teams, global sales teams, marketing, operations, risk, legal and compliance, etc.
