It's a NEW Day at MassBay in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. We are looking for enthusiastic, smart, diverse and compassionate nursing faculty to help us develop and shape the next generation of nursing professionals. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated commitment to student success. With a new Health Sciences Campus on the horizon in Framingham, we seek professionals who love what they do and want to pass that expertise on in supportive and positive ways.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among a diverse student population. A comfort level with various types of teaching/learning delivery models is preferred.
This position requires the candidate to have experience in any of the following areas: medical/surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, OB nursing, psychiatric nursing. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of didactic, delivery of content, presentation of nursing skills and oversight of students in clinical courses.
Faculty members are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program, MassBay Community College and in accordance with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The faculty member is responsible for maintaining a current R.N. license, and nursing expertise.
The faculty member participates in the instruction, review, and evaluation of nursing courses and in the evaluation of student performance. He/she participates in departmental, division and college-related committees and activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Demonstrates teaching effectiveness in the classroom, lab, and clinical area;
Teaching pre-licensure nursing students across the nursing curriculum;
Develops instructional material consistent with course objectives;
Assigns supervises, and evaluates students in the clinical setting;
Shares program governance with the Director of Nursing consistent with BORN regulations and ACEN standards;
Collaborates with faculty colleagues and nursing program staff to develop, support and implement the philosophy, conceptual framework, objectives and policies of the program;
Collaborates with professionals in clinical settings;
Actively participates in curriculum development, course refinement, and program evaluation;
Collaborates with all faculty colleagues to develop a nursing curriculum plan that shall provide a variety of learning experiences consistent with the program mission, philosophy, and nursing education outcomes;
Actively participates in all program, division and college committees;
Demonstrates flexibility within nursing specialties;
Utilizes a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' critical thinking skills;
Effectively uses simulations and computer technologies in the classroom and lab;
Actively participates in the Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP);
Serves as an adviser to nursing students and potential nursing students;
Serves on departmental, division, college, and statewide committees;
Maintains current expertise through professional development;
Maintains expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities.

Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing, or able to obtain for out of state applicants;
Possess an earned master's degree in nursing or higher;
Possess a minimum of two years full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years and evidence of clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction;
Familiarity with multiple education instructional tools, methodologies, and modalities including simulation, concept-based learning, systems-based learning;
Experience with and demonstrated a commitment to cross-disciplinary education;
Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to quickly learn new software requirements;
Commitment to the use of new learning technologies;
Current and unencumbered Massachusetts Driver's License.
Five years of nursing experience;
Demonstrated academic leadership;
Demonstrated curriculum development and implementation;
Doctorate in Nursing or other related degrees;
Familiarity with the accreditation process;
Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
Experience working in a diverse environment;
Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students.
Education: Master of Science in Nursing degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher education in the U.S.
Salary Range: $59,214 - $74,977. Rank and salary commensurate with education and teaching experience.
