The Role: Data Analyst II Grade: 10 ( for internal purposes only )
S&P Global Platts is looking for a Data Analyst to work closely with our Platts' European Gas, Power and Global LNG data team. In this role you will be responsible for conducting analysis on data sets to ensure they are complete and optimized. You will also be responsible for answering data related customer questions, utilizing the wider team to investigate issues, as well as assisting Sales in reporting feedback to stakeholders via regular reporting.
The Location: Canary Wharf, London

They work great at moving forward with the group's mission and goals. A new member of this team will hit the ground running and collaborate with his/her team members immediately.
The Impact: This role has a core impact to our analyst team and to our customers. This role serves as the backbone of our European data team and you will contribute to conducting analysis on our data sets to ensure completion and optimization.

Responsible for answering data related client questions, both internal and external. Working with wider Data team and analysts to compile answers to ensure status of platform user enquires are communicated to clients.
Manage datasets to ensure completeness, integrity and optimize data performance. Working with analysts, wider data team, Data Collections and IT to ensure all published data is collected and publication to database and platform optimized.
Be the customer interface for Platts' European Gas, Power and Global LNG data, working with managers and Sales to educate and train clients about our data. As well as working to resolve client issues and ensure feedback is reported to key internal stakeholders for development.
Set up, manage and report on key data related KPIs to stakeholders to ensure data issues statistics, integrity, feedback and performance are tracked and reviewed.
Perform ad-hoc data tasks to enable product development and increasing our data coverage to ensure we are always at the forefront of the market.
University degree in Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
Advanced use of databases (SQL, PostgresSQL)
Experience in providing customer service support with strong client-facing and communication skills
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Knowledge of business intelligence tools for analyzing datasets (Power BI, Tableau)
Ability to retrieve, interrogate, manipulate and analyse data and presenting findings
Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst or similar
Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills with a meticulous for detail
Strong communication skills over email, instant chat and face-to-face and experience of building constructive working relationships.
Highly organized and structured worker with ability to work on multiple tasks at same time
Knowledge of energy markets or energy data desirable but not essential.
Interest in technology as a means to visualize, interrogate and report data
