Rider University seeks a Community Service Officer (Public Safety Officer) in the Department of Public Safety at our Lawrenceville campus. Individual will provide the University with excellent customer and community service assistance, protects life, and safeguards property through the maintenance of law and order by enforcing all rules and regulations governing Rider University. The Community Service Officer will be responsible for assisting with all community policing, outreach programs and campus safety presentations for the Department and writing detailed progress reports. This position will also play a primary role in taking photos for the Campus Card Access System, updating lost card counts, billing for lost cards, and other associated duties.
Successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a college degree is preferred. Additional requirements include: a minimum of one year law enforcement, security, military or firefighting experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field; be at least 21 years of age; must have, or be willing to obtain within one year, CPR and First Aid certification; demonstrated ability to work well with others and under both direct and indirect supervision; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure; a high degree of dedication, honesty, and integrity; computer literacy; good physical condition and stamina; valid driver's license which is in good standing; and willingness and ability to work flexible hours and voluntary and involuntary overtime. A minimum of two years' security training with police training and first responder or EMT certification preferred.
