The Business Systems Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the optimization of the operation and maintenance of Municipal Utilities infrastructure assets through the use of technology and software including a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), Geographic Information System (GIS), and other enterprise computer solutions. This position will be assigned to Field Operations – Solid Waste.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Building, Maintaining and Managing all Solid Waste GIS layers and mapping library;
Plan, organize, and supervise staff in the maintenance and update of infrastructure asset digital records, work order systems, mobile workforce solutions, and other enterprise software solutions;
Manage database of all infrastructure assets and assist in data collecting, gathering, and compiling of asset data to provide reports and to make recommendations for operational and procedural changes;
Select, train, motivate, track, assign, and oversee the work of staff; establish schedules and methods for work performed; and ensure adherence to proper workgroup procedures and policies;
Oversee all billing and financial ERP systems (Oracle CCB);
Facilitate communication with section technology partners/vendors;
Maintain all hardware, software, and web portals for the section’s Solid Waste integrated information system;
Act as main supervisory point of contact for City’s 311 operation;
Provide performance reports from operational data.
Requires equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, public administration, business administration, information technology, engineering, or degree related to the core functions of this position.
The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).
Requires three years of experience working with software solutions in the areas of maintenance management functions and asset data collection and recording. Direct experience utilizing an operational Computerized Maintenance Management System, Geographic Information System mapping software, and other Enterprise software systems based on the assignment. One year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Certification, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Successful completion of initial probationary period is contingent upon passing an FBI background investigation. Based on position, referred applicants may be subject to additional testing which may include pre-employment polygraph, physical and drug screening.
This position is FLSA Exempt – not eligible for overtime compensation and/or compensatory time.
