Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Database Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary: The principal function of this position is to perform data support to Departmental Projects as assigned by the Associate Director.
Data Management Prepares forms and reports, compiles and analyzes data, statistics, and other materials Obtains and abstracts data from medical records, patients, and outside physicians offices, (e.g., laboratory or diagnostic test results, medical and/or surgical histories, medications; outside hospitalization records) for reporting Ensures the integrity of the data meets ALCOA standards of Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original and Accurate Performs data entry and query responses in various databases as appropriate and in a timely manner; specialized training provided based on system specifications Reviews data entered, edits obvious errors, and obtains missing information Maintains copies of all required on-going documentation and forms for filing Audits and manages patient specific data for entry into the database for project(s)
Information Technology Provide desktop support for the various software programs and I.T. related issues; create helpdesk tickets if needed. Collaborate with EPIC/Phoenix and create MCIT helpdesk tickets for Phoenix issues Provide occasional data and I.T. support for coordinators and staff
Analysis and Reporting Formulates, prepares database, and generates preliminary measurement reports for review by Supervisor Compiles and consolidates data and conducts preliminary analysis to data collected for presentation to appropriate parties in requested forums Provides reports to all necessary parties on the progress of the project(s) as directed Responds to requests in a timely manner, give/receive correct information, encourage required dialogue/follow-through May abstract data for publications; prepare and submit monthly statistics as necessary
Regulatory Maintain awareness of appropriate regulatory status and keep up-to-date documentation required by governing bodies in appropriate formats Prepares necessary documents, attend meetings and take minutes of discussions and presentations Schedules visits for specific projects in the specified timeframe to maintain compliance
Decision Making and Problems Solving Combines and evaluates information and data to make decisions about relative importance of information and choosing the best solution to solve problems Resolves complex situations and refers non-solved issues and questions with recommendation to Supervisor Utilizes available resources and procedures in order to rectify problems Establishes internal and external resources that may include: Nurses, Pharmacists, Program Managers, Medical Technicians, Clinical Information Systems and Regulatory Services to assist with patient related issues
Continuous Learning Demonstrates ongoing knowledge of and follows proper processes within current policies and procedures Position requires ongoing continuing education in all developmental areas Promotes own professional growth and development in research role and maintains current expertise in area of practice. Maintains annual requirement of 10 CEUs in continuing education and demonstrate proof of ongoing education Serves as a resource to peers and works collaboratively with other disciplines within the area of expertise Performs other assignments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree and 1-year related experience
Preferred Qualifications: College degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 4 years experience in a similar capacity with at least two years experience in healthcare.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
