Athletics Marketing & Promotions Coordinator The University of Akron Akron, OH

The University of Akron a NCAA Division I (FBS) institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) is accepting applications for a Marketing Coordinator position in Marketing and Promotions for the Department of Athletics. This position will develop and implement marketing plans for assigned sports to increase attendance and enhance the fan experience.
The candidates will serve as the primary marketing contact for Men's and Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Swimming and Diving, Track and Field, Softball and Tennis. The position will be a secondary contact for Football and Men's and Women's Basketball. These positions are responsible for developing marketing, ticketing, advertising, social media and promotional plans for designated sports and managing the individual sports budgets. The position will work closely with Learfield IMG College to fulfill sponsorship obligations and the Aspire Group to fulfill ticket obligations for assigned sports. These positions will also serve as the primary coordinator of Zippy's Kids Club, assist in student marketing efforts with the AK-ROWDIES and serve as the main contact for donation requests. Additional responsibilities will be assigned. This position will report to the Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing and Promotion.
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience in collegiate sports marketing and demonstrated graphic design experience using the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) is required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have good working relationships within and outside of the athletics department. Must be able to work nights and weekends as required for events.
