The Wegmans School of Nursing invites applications for the following full time term appointment as a visiting assistant professor in nursing starting in Fall 2019
The WSON is seeking a full time term, non-tenure track faculty member to teach in the UG program in the area of medical-surgical nursing for adults/older adults. Current NYS licensure as an RN and a clinically focused master's degree in nursing are required. Preference will be given to candidates with doctoral preparation and teaching experience at the baccalaureate level. The successful candidate needs to have recent or current clinical experience in the acute care adult or critical care setting. The successful candidate with doctoral preparation may be eligible for future conversion to a tenure track line.
The nursing programs in the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The teaching load is 12 contact hours per semester; options for summer teaching exist.
Education / Experience:
Applications are invited from candidates who are nationally certified in an advanced practice role such as a Family or Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist
Competencies / Skills:
Successful candidates will be minimally master's prepared in a clinically focused area, have current clinical expertise and demonstrate the capacity to participate in scholarly activities. Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level and community engagement is desirable. Candidates must be licensed as a RN in New York State or be eligible for licensure. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US, and available to start teaching in Fall 2019.
