The University of Cincinnati, Office of Research, is seeking an Executive Director for its institution-wide Digital Futures Resilience Anchor Initiative. This position will enhance and support the University's research activities addressing how society can prepare and respond to natural and human-made disasters. The Executive Director will serve as a liaison for the Digital Futures initiative to work with the community, administrators, faculty, staff and other researchers to enhance growth in recovery and resilience-related research and programming. The Executive Director will report to the Vice President for Research or their designee.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Engage in internal and external networking and liaisons to build successful partnering; develop, oversee, and maintain a database (information-sharing mechanism and repository) for both internal coordination (i.e. grant and contract priorities and opportunities) and external collaborating;
Develop and execute against successful business plan to sustain the resilience anchor that meets the needs of the University of Cincinnati, the Office of Research and relevant researchers;
Manage externally supported multi-disciplinary research initiatives focused on resilience and related fields;
Oversee all communications related to the UC Digital Futures Resilience Anchor; identify appropriate anchor steering committee members; coordinate regular meeting agendas for steering committee;
Identify and recruit new research talent into the resilience anchor;
Represent the University at local, state and national meetings as appropriate;
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as appropriate.

Master's Degree in engineering, computer science or information systems/technology or closely related field. Experience must include at least five (5) years in an academic, government, or private sector research, staff, and/or administrative position and a minimum of one (1) year supervision.
PhD Degree in engineering, computer science or information systems/technology or closely related field with at least 10 years of experience in an academic, government, or private sector research and administrative position with prior management experience working with federally funded initiatives;
Experience working effectively with large, multidisciplinary teams;
Experience in externally-sponsored research and program development;
Experience with military, defense agencies and/or contractors in highly desired;
Experience in creating P3 (public-private partnerships) is highly desired;
Demonstrated management, leadership, and communication skills;
