RS&H is currently seeking a Regional Manager for the Aerospace and Defense Practice in our San Antonio, TX office.
The Regional Manager is the direct administrative leader for a specific geographic region of the country and directly responsible for all financial, project operations, marketing, human resource and client interface aspects of the offices within their region. This position focuses on client management, contract and project oversight, building the firm or Practice’s market position by locating, developing, defining, and assisting in negotiating, and closing business deals. The individual’s time is primarily spent developing trusted relationships with clients and other business partners, as well as working with office managers and project managers supervising client deliverables. The individual supervises and mentors other staff and advises senior management on market trends/activities and client trends/activities of significant impact on the firm or Practice.
Takes a lead role in the development of the market sector, as well as implementation and growth strategy.
Maintain relationships as a client manager.
Organizes, plans, schedules, and manages.
Leads and directs strategic research, executes and manages in support of the firm or Practice’s market sectors and areas for opportunity/growth.
Maintains a robust network of business, industry, government, municipal, and community contacts and develops a strong pipeline of new clients and projects through direct or indirect client contact and prospecting.
Manages and works with office leaders, project managers and staff on client trends, opportunities, and client program management.
Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners, as well as discovering and exploring opportunities.
Screens potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; and recommending equity investments.
Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of a new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; and estimating partners' needs and goals.
Makes commitments on behalf of the firm with general direction from senior management.
Takes a role in determining go/no go decisions and proposal activities, as well as determining scopes of work and fees.
Identifies industry trends, emerging technologies, governmental regulation changes and/or issues related to A/E/C; shares relevant findings with leadership on a regular basis; and offers analysis/recommendations.
Maintains a high profile in industry or client organizations with a leadership role.
Influences other aspects of the firm or Practice’s direction and operations.
Directs the recruitment and training of other marketing and technical staff on business development-related issues and topics.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requires a travel and time out of the office for meetings, conferences, etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of the firm’s practice, clientele, goals, policies, and procedures.
Excellent business management, organizational and mentoring skills.
Solves problems quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Prepares presentations for Practice leadership, senior management or RS&H Board.
Thorough understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and delivery methods.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) to complete assigned tasks.
Possesses excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills.
Responsible for the overall Regional development of the firm or Practice.
Recruits, supervises, and directs other business development or technical staff in client management and business development.
Trains, mentors, and coaches staff on project, client management and business development-related topics.
Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills to understand client needs, negotiate complex win-win deals, etc.
Successfully builds relationships and collaborates with diverse audiences; develops and maintains a strong business network.
Spends a time outside the office on opportunities.
Maintains strict confidentiality on matters.
Interacts with the multiple levels both inside and outside the firm.
Follows through on tasks in a consistent and persistent manner.
Serves as a trusted company ambassador while operating in compliance with the company’s adopted “Statement of Business Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy”.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering.
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 14+ years of prior work experience within the Aerospace or Defense market and A/E/C experience preferred.
Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.
Participation in continuing education required.
Must possess exceptional oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
Good organization and time management skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Working in support of the Department of Defense, applicants must be a US Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident.
Valid driver’s license.
Active membership in career-oriented professional or Practice -related organization with a leadership role, including participation in developing professional papers and presentations.
Participation in community service or charitable organizations that contributes to RS&H business objectives is desired.
