Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Legal Assistant.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for supporting NYU Langone Health corporate, governance and contracting functions, and for providing general administrative support for attorneys in the Office of Legal Counsel, primarily for the Senior Counsel (Corporate) and the Associate General Counsel (Supply Chain Management & Pharmacy).
Maintain corporate governance databases for NYU Langone Health legal entities (including organization documents, board resolutions, government registrations and filings)
Liaison with director of Trustee Administration on Board matter
Assist attorneys with initial contract review and drafting of legal documents, templates, contracts and board resolutions
Prepare initial agreements and contracts for SCM and IT based on templates under attorneys supervision (e.g. NDA, affidavits, purchase agreements)
Drafts and edits reports, presentations, forms and other legal documents
Assist attorneys with assembling educations/training/ research materials and document production (including exhibits, presentations, litigation backs, affidavits of service).
Pro-actively coordinate with attorneys in proofreading legal documents, such as commercial contracts, presentations, corporate resolutions, legal memos, for clarity and grammar
Conduct legal research as needed
Maintain and provide content for Office of Legal Counsels website
Maintain legal departments contract management system (e.g. Determine) by uploading contracts and relevant documents
Work with the attorney to respond to third party subpoenas
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: - Compose correspondence and memoranda; coordinate with Office of Legal Counsels assistant in scheduling assigned attorneys appointment calendars and reserving conference rooms for meetings - Maintain positive and professional relationships with NYU Langone Healths other departments personnel to facilitate cooperation in carrying out responsibilities - Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree with 5 years experience or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: - Completion of an accredited paralegal training program. Paralegal certificate. - Minimum of 3 years experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department - Experience with a contract management system (e.g. Determine) highly preferred - Experience in reviewing IT contracts and licenses highly preferred - Pro-active, team player, able to prioritize and manage multiple assignments
