The Security Dispatcher will serve as the first point of contact for callers and walk-in customers requesting service from the Safety & Security Department. The candidate will dispatch security officers to routine and emergency calls as required by the nature of the incident.
Answer all incoming telephone calls to campus and direct them to the appropriate department. Dispatcher will monitor intrusion detection and fire surveillance system as well as notify the Monroe County 911 Center for emergency response as needed. The Dispatcher will also maintain contact with college departments for daytime and/or after hour routine and emergency maintenance requests, maintain radio communications with on-duty security officers and operate a multi-line telephone system, complete data entry daily for online reporting systems, perform cashier responsibilities, monitor the campus shuttle, assist with department lost and found, use the RAVE Alert System to send out campus wide notifications when instructed and other clerical tasks/duties as assigned by the Office Manager.

Competencies / Skills:
Must have excellent communication skills, experience with Microsoft Windows based programs, Microsoft Office and a multi line telephone. Ability to multi-task and remain focused during emergencies is a must.
