Site Security Specialist (1805597) – Freeport, TX
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to support our security operations at our North American BASF site(s) in Freeport, TX. You will serve as a resource monitoring and managing overall site security programs and operations, including but not limited to security procedures, processes (in accordance with governing regulations and policies), incident management and investigations, site personnel training and awareness, and briefings to key stakeholders, and leadership.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your educational (OR equivalent military or law enforcement training) and professional experience in security, you will direct activities in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining progressive security practices and processes (in accordance with governing regulations and policies) to reduce security risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure and liability in all areas of information, financial, assets, physical, personal, and reputation risk.
Successfully engaging inside the organization, you will develop networks throughout all functions and levels to influence and drive security initiatives.
Your experience in managing and conducting investigations, including witness interviews and evidence collection, will be a valued asset as you will facilitate investigations of security-related incidents and allegations in coordination with appropriate functions (e.g., Compliance, HR, Corporate Audit).
Your knowledge of federal, state, local laws, and law enforcement structures will be a plus as you work to ensure the area's or site's compliance with requirements.
Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will lead briefings to responsible senior leadership on the status of security issues and emerging threats on an on-going basis.
Your familiarity with assessing, developing, and implementing high-level security, threat assessment, and crisis management plans will be essential as you will lead on-the-scene crisis response in the event of a significant incident.
This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
