Planned Pethood of Georgia is seeking qualified veterinarian(s) to provide contract veterinary services at Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement on Saturdays. Duties include surgery (typically limited to spay/neuter on Saturdays) and providing emergency and routine medical care to animals housed in the shelter. Digital x-ray on site; Idexx account for bloodwork. Work hours are typically 9 am-4 pm. Two full time experienced vet assistants are scheduled to work every Saturday. Job reports directly to the shelter medical director and indirectly to the executive director of Planned Pethood of Georgia.

Planned PEThood believes that affordable, accessible spay/neuter is the key to solving the homeless pet crisis. Through April 2018 we have performed 41,000 sterilization surgeries at our clinic in Duluth, GA.
In addition to our high-volume, high-quality surgery clinic, we offer low-cost vaccination clinics to the public. We also rescue/adopt pets through our network of foster homes, providing premium care for our foster pets at our own clinic.
Our Trap-Neuter-Return program offers trap loans at no charge and special spay/neuter pricing for community cats. We also have a full-time TNR Coordinator and volunteers to provide trapping assistance when needed.
Our contract with Gwinnett County allows us to provide medical care for animals at the county's shelter; we have a DVM an staff on-site 6 days per week.
