ProSphere is seeking a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to support the design, integration and implementation of telecommunications and data communications technology systems and related infrastructures in Department of Defense (DoD) secure environment. The successful RCDD candidate should be skilled in the creation of detailed designs of a new system and/or integrate design in an existing structure. A Top Secret security clearance is required as well as the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD®) BICSI Credential. This is a full-time position located in Adams County, PA. Cabling and Infrastructure:
Assist the government personnel with respect to following the latest EIA/TIA-568, 569, 606 and 942 standards.
Utilize newly surveyed as well as previously surveyed and maintained DoD customer passive and active equipment, cabling and other facility infrastructure data.
Joint Consolidated Server Room (JCSR)/Data Center:
Ensure that the JCSR facilities are under configuration management control necessary to maintain all current and future infrastructure moves and changes.
Assist in performing a health check (capacity, heat and power) of the data center based upon the DoD customer analysis criteria.
Participate in continuous process review and improvements to all DoD customer policies and procedures.
Network Switch and IP Designs:
Collaborate with DoD customer Network Operations and Administration teams to assess the existing infrastructure design and provide network Switch and infrastructure IP design options and recommendations.
Assure that all new network equipment is on the DoD customer Approved Product List (APL) and meets industry standards and methodologies.
Provide network designs that match the DoD customer business needs by utilizing the existing equipment, cabling infrastructure diagrams and connectivity information.
Voice Telecommunications (VoIP, VoSIP, etc.) :
Provide infrastructure guidance for the successful implementation of standards and methodology to meet the infrastructure requirements for DoD customer voice systems.
Work closely with the various DoD customer teams to assure proper cable type usage and lengths are maintained to support both VoIP and VoSIP systems.
Audio/Visual and Conferencing Systems:
Work with the existing DoD customer Audio/Visual and Conferencing teams to provide physical infrastructure guidance to assure that the physical cable plant will support all of the necessary video conferencing industry standards such as H.200 and 300's, the G.700's and the H.460's, along with ISDN, LAN, WAN, VPN, ADSL, and SIP all mixed with High-Definition, 1080p, 720p, NTSC, PAL and CIF.
CCTV and Surveillance Systems:
Work with the DoD customer CCTV, Security and Surveillance teams to provide recommendations and planning for current and future CCTV and Surveillance System capabilities, including analyzing future system bandwidth requirements for both equipment as well as the physical cabling infrastructure.
Validate that any proposed infrastructure changes will meet the standards that are being updated by Homeland Security SST for either analog or IP based systems.
Drawings, Bill of Materials and Installation Plans:
Assist the DoD customer Program Office with development of infrastructure drawings that are dynamic in nature.
Install, Integrate, and Test ISP and OSP Infrastructure:
Utilize the existing DoD customer SOPs to do the planning, analytics and testing of all proposed changes to evaluate the impact on all systems.
Demo and suggest new technology or practices that could benefit the site’s mission.
Bring standard and current industry best practices to the DoD customer project.
Support, participate in, and implement on-boarding new customers and equipment to the JSCR.
Respond to and assist in troubleshooting ISP/OSP Remedy incident tickets.
Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility (TS/SCI)
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD®) BICSI Credential is required
Must have 5 years minimum experience of information and communications technology (ICT) industry design experience or an equivalent combination of experience, approved education and industry certifications
Experience in installation, and troubleshooting of inside and outside cable plant
Must understand and be able to apply EIA/TIA Industry Standards, NEC/NFPA codes, and OSHA regulations
Qualified/trained for confined space
Experience designing and installing cable infrastructure for telecommunication rooms and large data centers.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to traverse long distances within the work site
Ability to work overtime required on occasion
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time
