TrellisWare is seeking a Contracts Management professional with broad-based domestic and international contracting experience, focused on the licensing of commercial software, sale of commercial hardware and performance of software development efforts, within the general context of a U.S. government contractor.
Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, the ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative and resourceful to meet the needs of a fast- growing, fast-paced company. Effective communication skills, written and oral, internal and external, are crucial. A successful candidate will demonstrate high integrity, values-based decision making, and a collaborative style and personality. Demonstrated expertise in establishing and supporting strong contractual relationships, and knowledge of commercial item sales to international distributors/representatives and commercial prime contractors is critical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Negotiate, administer and manage various domestic and international contracts with commercial and U.S. government customers for the licensing and sale of commercial software and hardware, respectively, and for commercial R&D work.
Support the proposal process, beginning with the comprehensive review of the RFP or other customer request, informing the proposal team of contract requirements and clauses; draft proposals in letter format and generate proposal volumes and related documentation, peer review proposal volumes for completeness, responsiveness, and accuracy.
Review, interpret, recommend, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions in accordance with company policies and objectives, procurement regulations, and customer requirements.
Advise management and internal customers of the risks and obligations of applicable procurement regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and negotiate as necessary.
Perform intellectual property protection practices, including review of data deliverable markings and technical data/software rights assertions or intellectual property protection clauses.
Monitor contract performance for compliance with terms and conditions, including funding limitations, and work with appropriate personnel to resolve questions and concerns.
Draft contractual correspondence and documentation from preaward through contract closure.
Support the Senior Contracts Manager to provide inter-department contract status reports to TrellisWare's Executive, Legal, Program Management, Operations, Finance, and Business Development departments.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Acquisition Management or another relevant field from an accredited college/university (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in commercial contracting and commercial item sales to the U.S. Government, with a demonstrated understanding of applicable regulations.
Experienced in proposal stage activities and the negotiation and administration of high-dollar, multi-year, complex contracts.
Proficiency with MS Office suite and a variety of electronic database systems.

Strong writing skills across all formats: proposals, contracts, correspondence (formal and informal), and internal memos. Able to effectively communicate orally with a variety of audiences, including the ability to make presentations to management and customers.
Balance company interests with customer desires; maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers. Flexibility to adjust to changing customer demands.
Interest and experience in understanding, developing, and defending contracting approaches within Government regulations.
Working knowledge of U.S. export regulations, delivery terms (UCC and INCOTERMS) and other domestic and international rules and regulations affecting the contracting process.
Current, or ability to acquire, Secret or greater security clearance. Top Secret preferred.
